The third important points of joint action of scientists in Slavonia (70s of XX century) were regional scientific congress initiated by the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (now Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts). First Scientific congress of Slavonia and Baranja was held in Osijek in 1970; written and presented 47 papers - from the fields of archeology in Slavonia, history and economic analysis of the development of the region to the culture and tradition of Slavonia. The second scientific congress was held in Slavonski Brod (1971), the third in Vukovar (1980), fourth in Požega (1983) and fifth in Vinkovci (1987). Each scientific papers and discussions have been published in proceedings.
